How to join Meets – Google Classroom

Each classroom has its own Meet that can be used if an ad hoc meeting is needed. This Meet link sits within the banner at the top of the classroom and is visible to teachers only. However, it can be made visible or shared with students if required.

Joining a Meet using the Classroom Meet Link

You can share the classroom Meet link in much the same way as 2.2 but it is done via the Stream. The link can of course be used in Classwork but the Classroom Meet is for more immediate meetings. Please see 4.1 for more information on this.

Step 1: Find the Meet Link from the banner at the top of the classroom. Highlight (or right click), then copy and paste the meet link into a new Announcement. It can also just be copied and pasted into the Announcement itself as per the following image.

Step 2: Alternatively, the Classroom meet link can also be copied from the Classroom settings page. Click on the cog in the top right. Scroll down to Meet, click on the link and then click Copy. You can then close the settings page by clicking the X in the top left and then paste it.

Joining a Meet using the Google Calendar

Step 1You can also access any scheduled Meet by going through your calendar. You can do this by following step 1 in section 3 of this guide. With the calendar open, find the day and Meet that you require, click once on the calendar entry and then click on Join with Google Meet. Students can also do the same.
