ICT Field Engineer – N/NW London – £24,000 – £30,000 + Mileage + Phone + 5 weeks holiday (depending on experience)

ICT Field Engineer – N London, NW London – £24,000 – £30,000 + Mileage + Phone
Job Title: ICT Field Engineer
Salary Details: £24,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) + mileage + phone + work uniform
Hours: 9.00am-5.00pm Mon-Fri – Flexible
Location: Field based – N/NW London (Barnet, Hillingdon and Ealing)
Holiday: 5 weeks (outside of term time) (25 days)

Having a good understanding of server 2022/2019/2016/2012R2, Windows 10/11, AD, Group Policy.

Ideally having experience of supporting schools ICT networks. Working alongside ICT coordinators you will have excellent communication skills and be reliable and punctual but above all personable. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in the field on their own but with the support of a team of technicians. As an ICT Field Engineer you will be responsible for visiting a number of primary schools on a rota and carrying out hardware/software installations, basic administration, health checks, fault troubleshooting, minor repairs, and maintenance of peripherals and network infrastructure. Own transport required.

Essential Requirements

■ Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
■ Troubleshooting network connectivity issues including wireless
■ Enthusiastic with strong customer facing qualities
■ Ability to prioritise jobs and approach them in a logical manner
■ Ability to explain issues and solutions in plain English to non-technical users
■ Highly motivated using own initiative and common sense to tackle issues
■ Own transport required
■ CRB/DBS desirable but will be required (we will pay for DBS check on commencement of employment)


Experience and familiarity with the following software;

■ Windows Server 2012R2/2016/2019/2022
■ Windows 10, 11
■ Office 2013/2016/2019/365


Experience with the following would be beneficial but not essential;

■ London Grid for Learning/Adept (Atomwide)
■ Office/Microsoft 365
■ Google GSuite for Education
■ Apple School Manager
■ Managed switches – Cisco, HP


Job roles and responsibilities;

Troubleshoot and repair issues with the following;
Servers, Desktops, Laptops, Interactive Whiteboards (Smart and Promethean), Speakers, Amplifiers, Printers, Visualisers, Cameras, Scanners, Photocopiers (connectivity only – not repair), tablets (iPads, Windows Tablets), Chromebooks

Start Date: Flexible
Salary: £24,000 – £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) + mileage + phone + work uniform
